Please join us for ‘From Palestine to Brighton 2017’ – A day to celebrate Palestinian culture. There will be free events all day at the Friends Meeting House culminating with a ticketed concert of classical and contemporary Arabic music performed by Sama’ at 7.30pm.

Events of the day:

‘The Worst Cook in the West Bank’
– A short play by Hannah Khalil – Performances at 11am, 1pm & 5.45pm

– Dabke Dance workshop 3pm until 4pm – performance 7pm

‘Where should the Birds Fly?’
– Film by Fida Qishta at 4.30pm

Images from Palestine 1917 to 2017 
– Israeli artist Gil Doron and local photographers

Palestinian Cafe
– open from 11am until 7pm

Finally, a concert of classical and contemporary Arabic music

Performed by Sama’, comprising of:
Wassim Qassis – percussion and buzuk
Ibrahim Atari – qanoon
Øystein BruFrantzen – bass guitar
Heather Bursheh – flute and voice
