8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
The Guild of Psychotherapists
47 Nelson Square, Blackfriars Road
This is the first meeting to establish a network of workers in mental health (in the widest sense) who are concerned about the impact of Israeli policies on the psychological well-being of the Palestinian people, and who approach the issue with a clear commitment to democratic values and anti-discriminatory practice.
There will be contributions from Jeff Halper of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions, and Dr Mohamed Altawil, of the Palestine Trauma Centre, bringing their direct knowledge of the ways in which politics and health on the ground are so inextricably intertwined.
We see as our first priority facilitating direct encounters between UK mental health practitioners and our Palestinian counterparts, to develop direct relationships, and to be in a position to find out how Palestinians would like us to focus our energies in their support.
So that we can calculate numbers, let us know if you do plan to come, and if you are unable to come but would still like to belong to the Network please tell us, so that we will be sure to include you in
future mailings. Write to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note: the venue is close to Southwark tube station, between Waterloo and London Bridge.
